If you've been wondering about the annual Food Summit, the answers are here! I'm on the planning committee for this year's annual Michigan Food Processing & Agri-Business Summit and am delighted with this year's content. Programming will focus on the business of buying and selling in Michigan's food economy.
Keynote speakers include:
Dan Lennon, President and CEO of Michigan Turkey Producers. Dan will be share his Michigan-born success story, and a somewhat recent one at that.
Representatives from Nestle/Gerber will also be sharing with us a presentation entitled "From Farm to Spoon: Gerber Grows in Michigan".
A Buyers Panel with representatives from Meijer, Gordon Food Services, and Request Foods. The panel will discuss what they look for in the companies that supply their food products. The panel should provide insight into what it takes to get your product on the store shelves.
In past years, the Food Summit has attracted an average of 200 attendees, and we're hoping for an even larger crowd this year.
