For more than a year food processors have gathered to discuss various topics and issues facing the industry at monthly Food Processors Lunch & Learns in Grand Rapids. This month, the October 19th Lunch & Learn will hit the road and head to Lansing to participate in Making It In Michigan, a conference and trade show for the food processing industry. Whether you join us solely for the Lunch & Learn portion of the day, or spend the whole day at the conference, between the educational sessions and trade show and the vendors and industry buyers who will be in attendance, there will be a lot to learn and takeaway from your day spent at Making It In Michigan.
The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome, followed by keynote speaker David Browne from Mintel. A variety of breakout sessions will be offered before breaking for lunch. The trade show floor opens at 12:30 p.m..
Session topics at the conference will range from the very first steps (How to Start a Food Business) to getting your product to market to insurance needs of a company in the food industry. Varnum’s Food Law group will be on hand as well, presenting a breakout session from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. entitled “Legal Issues 101: Regulations and Legal Issues in the Food Business.”
